The SM-4008 offers a full range of comprehensive resistance training options for all fitness goals. The Smith-style press bar with adjustable safety stops allows you to perform a variety of powerful strength training workouts. These workouts include smith machine squats, presses, and more.
Use the SM-4008 as a power cage by taking advantage of the pull-up bar for more upper body workouts. The unit also includes bar catches and safety catches to be used with an Olympic Barbell (sold separately.)
An independent motion upper pulley system allows for cable crossovers. The same pulley’s vertical movement also provides resistance for the pec deck. And, the pulley is not dependent on patented weight stack plates, simply use the standard or Olympic plates you currently own.
Continue building muscle throughout your body with the included leg developer. The leg developer allows you to strengthen your lower body through leg extensions and leg curls. The adjustable back pad expands your exercise options by providing multiple back pad angles. Marcy Smith Machine SM-4008
I purchased this Smith Machine in 2010. It has been used nearly every day since then. It has also made one cross country move. It is the foundation to my home gym. Of course, over time parts need to be replaced (pulleys/cables etc). This is natural with ALL gym equipment, it requires maintenance. IMPEX/Marcy customer service has always been great. Never an issue, prompt and reliable service. Of course, you can spend more money if you want but this is by far the best value for your dollar. As I'm a first responder, I have access to four private gyms which I also use on occasion, but I prefer my home gym, its open 24/7, no crowds, no waiting and can blase music/TV as loud as I want. Plus, zero commute. I've been happy with ALL IMPEX/Marcy products. Just keep your eyes open (e,g, Craigs List) for the Olympic weight plates and accessories, you can't go wrong with this product.

GOOD MACHINE
Great workout machine, it requires a lot of patience to assemble, but it's worth it the work. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a total gym, it is worth the money!!!

Great machine
If you take the time to put this beast together, you wont regret it. Tighten all bolts after the entire unit is assembled. This made the process easy.

I am very impressed with the product. The build quality is excellent, you will not be disappointed. Please note, there a lot of screws and pieces to assemble and you will need a second person to hold pieces in place while you insert the screws.

Super machine
I’ve been using this machine for awhile and really like it. You have to switch weights around when using this in order to use sections of the machine, but overall I’m very happy with this equipment and haven’t looked into any other gym equipment since I’ve bought it
