Fun FAQs

What first got you into fitness, and what’s changed since?

Mike: "I grew up playing sports, and in college football my strength coach taught us to optimize our firing patterns and build a strong mind-to-muscle connection. Since then, I’ve been motivated to help others move more efficiently and optimize their performance. That’s why I love fitness."

Sophie: "I grew up in France with three older brothers into fitness. At fourteen, they dragged me into the gym, and I loved it. Feeling strong, healthy, and in control of your body feels good. We only have one body, so we should respect it, love it, and be kind to ourselves fitness has taught me that."

What makes a workout fun enough to stick with?

Workouts are most fun when they’re music driven. Like cardio or HIIT to the beat, or dancing with dumbbells like we have on our channel. We always focus on good form while enjoying the movement. We also like to switch things up to keep it fresh, and even wearing great workout clothes helps boost confidence and motivation. Making it feel playful like when you were kids really helps you stick with it.

What do people overcomplicate about training at home?

"People often overcomplicate home workouts thinking they need a full gym setup. The truth is, movement matters most. Bodyweight is a great place to start, but adding light dumbbells is one of the easiest ways to increase challenge, build strength, and see progress, without making workouts complicated. Focus on full range of motion, good form, and gradually increasing resistance as you get stronger.”

What stood out to you about training with Marcy gear?

"We really appreciate Marcy’s quality. We used their hex dumbbells, they feel strong, look great, and stay put thanks to the hex shape. What stood out to us training with Marcy’s hammertone kettlebell was the wide handle, which made two-handed swings comfortable. I also loved the smooth transition from handle to base—it makes it easy to hook your thumbs in for goblet squats or reverse lunges. Just like a good outfit, having quality dumbbells and kettlebells makes your workout feel complete. That’s Marcy for you."

What do you hope people feel after finishing one of your workouts?

"We want people to feel happy and energized. We want to turn fitness into something you get to do rather than something you have to do."

What’s your favorite part of training together?

Mike: "I love training with my wife—it’s bonding, we hold each other accountable, and share tips on form and technique."

Sophie: "We work hard, and the rewards feel great—whether seeing results ourselves or hearing about people’s transformations. It’s meaningful and heartwarming to help others together."

What advice would you give someone just starting at-home workouts?

"Start slow and keep it simple. Begin with bodyweight or light dumbbells so you can focus on learning proper form and building confidence. Once that feels good, gradually increase the weight to continue challenging yourself. Progress doesn’t have to be rushed. Show up, have fun, stay consistent, and let your strength build over time.”
