The Marcy Pro Deluxe Smith Cage Home Gym System – SM-7553 is an all-in-one home gym cage. This sturdy Smith Home Gym has an incredible amount of features suited for beginners and advanced users alike. The SM-7553 is an all-in-one smith cage because it offers a ton of features, some only found in club gyms, such as a smith machine and cable crossovers. In addition, the multi-grip pull-up bar and detachable dip bars deliver body weight workouts without the need for a separate power tower.
Use the included bar catch/safety catches for presses, squats, and more. Complete leg presses using the leg press attachment and use the landmine attachment for several different landmine workouts, including landmine squats, landmine rows, and more. The included adjustable bench has a saw-tooth adjustment for the back pad so you can quickly and securely switch between incline, flat, and decline positions. For your comfort, the seat pad portion also has 4 different adjustment angles. For your convenience, the transport wheels make it easy to move the bench around as necessary for your workouts. Finally, the preacher curl pad and leg developer are detachable to make space for different workouts.
This unit does not have a weight stack. Olympic weight plates are not included.
The Marcy Pro Deluxe Smith Cage Home Gym System is a Smith machine and power rack in one. Use the ultra-smooth Chrome Smith machine to safely work out on your own. And, use the included bar catch/safety catches to complete squats, presses, and more.
There are 43 adjustments possible for the cable crossovers on the SM-7553, so you can set them to your ideal position. The cable crossovers are connected to two independent weight trolley systems. As a result, each side of the cable crossover can be used with different weights or allowing you to properly even out your exercises.
The SM-7553 Deluxe Smith Cage Home Gym also includes traditional power tower features. Use the adjustable dip station for dips or the multi-grip pull-up station for pull-ups, chin-ups, and more. The row plate on the SM-7553 helps provide grip for your seated rows.
The SM-7553 offers a wide variety of attachments for more workouts. Attach the landmine station for landmine squats and the leg press attachment for leg presses. The resistance band/tube anchor rods can add even more resistance to your workouts as well (resistance bands/tubes not included).

The machine appears to be nice. I just had my home gym built got finished last week. I started unboxing the 7553 and assembling. About half way in Intealized I am out of #136 and almost out of #134. I ran do a hardware store bought 35 of the locking nylon nuts 12mm. (That don't match the nice blue nylon in the ones supplied. I continued to assemble. Now 5 step or so in. I am missing about 10-15 #127 (the ones that bolt on the bar that holds the pullup grips.I am not with the machine now. So I am back on my way to the hardware store to get bolts to finish the job.
Now that I have all the corrected parts and the machine is assembled, it is a great and versatile machine. Workout on it often with great results.

Just started using the machine, great experience so far. My brother and I built it, took us about 10 hours together.
Machine does everything for a complete workout! And 2 people can use it at the same time. No more running around a gym or fitness center to different machines for a workout. This does it all for you. Amazing foot print and engineering design! Has it all on one machine.
My gym arrived missing cables. After several emails I finally received one set of cables-obviously this system has two sides. When the other set of cables was sent it was two of the same part-not one set of 146 & one set of 147. Called customer service and got the run around-a representative who could have cared less that it’s been 14 days and I can’t use my system. I probably wouldn’t do this again with this company.
Assembly of the Marcy Pro Deluxe Smith Cage Home Gym System – SM-7553 was relatively easy. Assembly took about 5-6 hours completed alone.
With help, this time could easily be reduced. 100% of the parts were included and clearly labeled, instructions were easy to follow. I purchased the cage for my teenage boys who want to expand their weight training. This is a perfect machine for beginner to intermediate as if provides a great variety of exercises.
The smith machine, set up with stop guards provides a safety component that beginners need.
Pros first
Pretty much can do everything , plus I’ve been in the gym for many years and now for home this can do anything I want especially using your imagination with some extra equipment. I did at least a month of reaserch and for the money I decided marcy. OK for set up , my 14 year old son and I put this together watching the video in about 7 hours using a couple of real hand wrenches and air ratchet , just make sure the orientation is standing in the rack facing forward and the right side is right. One of my set backs was a couple of my top choices came with weight stacks and at a 2:1 ratio but I figured for the extra money I’m going to need a plate and bar set for outside the rack for squats , curls , etc so why spend the money just get a plate set and bar and still be less money.
I know this is a 14 gauge steel and others say there are 12 or 10 but this set up is very solid and when weight is on smith machine or outside squat rack or on the attachments it doesn’t move. definitely reccomend un boxing everything and un packing all the plastic and laying it out before starting and do the bench last. So it was new years eve and my son and I started this before company came over and after about 2 hours in I left him in the garage and at almost midnight he had 3/4 done alone. Hope this helps anyone hesitating on this for home but you will be very satified once completed.
Cons second
None of these are a deal breaker just my experience with mechanicals.
I would of like to see the pulley weight stack bars be a hair shorter almost free floating as when I put the top brace on I noticed the bars kinda bowed a little bit causing them at the bottom to have some resistance without any weight on them. But I sprayed them with a silicone spray several times and seem to be working in better.
The bench , great all around attachments , I will say this I definitely put 2 washers on the main pivot point to tighten up the sloppy wobble , that’s just me wanting this bench super tight. These aren’t really any cons just some of my opinions.

Part number 40 is missing. The axis which mounts on the right part,
at the bottom of the structure was not in the packages received.
The leg press accessory (part no. 30) which mounts to the central bench press bar (part no. 23) does not fit.
The welds on the bar are too thick and do not allow part 30 to be adapted to part 23.
the silver bar is 2” i bought the plates that are a little over 2” and they fit. The two sides are also measured 2” bit yet they don’t fit on that. I have spent about 10k and yet still can’t use my machine

Cannot perform heavy lat pull downs. Bench configuration makes it impossible to get full ROM on lying leg curls.
Not bad but the bench definitely needs to be redesigned. Bench is almost impossible to do lying leg curls on.
I quit going to the gym because of people and their phones. I wanted something that had everything at my disposal and this is it, the whole family loves it!
This is a great Smith machine/cage system for home gyms! Very sturdy, and tons of different exercises you can do. It's a bit challenging to assembly if you're doing it on your own, without any help. Once assembled, though, you'll be impressed. Well worth the price.
Be aware that it's delivered in 6 heavy boxes. You'll need help to carry them inside your house. Also, it's quite tall when assembled, so make sure you measure your ceiling height & account for any light fixtures as well.
Came as advertised. Instructions easy to follow to assemble. Well worth the upgrade from the Marcy Diamond I replaced this with.
This machine is perfect if you are tired of waiting for machine at gyms but still want a full body workout. They left nothing out. The worst part of this machine was BUILDING IT. the instructions do not have words,only a picture that’s very small to see so you better pay close attention to the detail in the picture so you don’t end up taking part back off to flip them around! None of the parts are labeled like the picture so your having to find and match the exact piece. But when it’s all finished it’s a very nice full body all purpose gym. I’d recommend it to anyone that not a body builder to use. It does require 2 people to build fyi. You will enjoy it as me and my boys do
I don't know what it can't do. It's got me working to pay for it, worked to build it, and gonna train on it. I don't think there is a thing this gym can't do. It's very well built everything went together smoothly. And it has everything you need. Very impressive
Love the system, I live away from the city. This system will pay for itself with time, gasoline, and money spent on gym fees. Product quality is great.
Mine was delivered last week and due to travel I didn't get it assembled until Sunday evening. I am very pleased with the quality of this machine. I have purchased Marcy equipment for several years for my home gym and this machine, by far, greatly exceeds my expectations. It wasn't difficult to assemble, and I don't think there's anything this machine can't do. I bought it to replace the three different rack systems I had and I don't regret my purchase at all. Anyone looking for a total home gym experience, this is it!
I purchased this as my first home gym. I was wanting an all in one gym and this provided that. There are so many exercises you can do with it. Very well built, the instructions were easy to follow. Took me about 4 hours to assemble. Packaging was great and labeled very well. I’ve been owning this machine for about 6 months with no complaints
