Listen this machine definitely has everything you need for the average workout. HOWEVER the plates are too heavy! I'm 53 I do pretty much everything between 1 to 2 plates. However my 13 year old struggles to do 1 plate. This machine needs a couple 1/2 plate weights. THEN I would give it a 5 star.
Just finished putting it together by myself so I’m rating it as a whole not necessarily exercising only. DELIVERY: Wow was surprised other than the box being torn right at the strapping it arrived undamaged. ASSEMBLY: other than a few hiccups that I created it went together pretty good, not a lot instructions so if your not mechanically inclined you’ll need to really look hard at diagrams. For the price you can’t beat it, lot of different exercises you can do. I had a more expensive machine ( HEAVIER DUTY TOO) but only a few different exercises capability.
I really like it especially for the price you can’t beat it. Only a couple of things that would’ve been nice some system for leveling it on old floors, and maybe a option to be able to put an arm curling station on by slipping into leg section, but it will do great for exercising and getting toned up, hats off to Marcy. Reason for 4 and not 5 is for vague instructions and ability for leveling it, and a 2.5, 5.0 lb plates to put on top of stack as you increase in strength. Jumping 10lbs sometimes is a little much.
Just finished putting together. Took awhile but the instructions were easy to follow. It works great and very quiet cable system. Highly recommend for a home gym.

After my heart attack I decided I needed to work out more. Going to a gym or exercise session wasn’t for me. I purchased the Macy at Sam’s Club a little over a year ago and been staying on a steady schedule ever since. Just love it

I've had the machine for about a week now and have no complaints. The only 2 issues so far has been the pins for the butterfly arms were two different sizes and the smaller one barely locks down the butterfly attachment. I called and Marcy stated they would send out a replacement but, I have not received it yet. The other issue is the bolts under the frame they should have been recessed as the frame does rock at times. Otherwise the gym has been very useful and has expanded my daily workouts. For the price ($400 Sams Club) and options I dont think you can get a better deal. I gave it 4 stars only because of the pin and wobbly frame issue at times otherwise I would rate it a 5 star.
Firstly, we had quite the time finding this item in stores…so as to not pay exorbitant shipping charges.
Previous reviews were not very good regarding the build instructions—I had zero issues with the assembly. However, I’m not an idiot and have been in manufacturing for over 30 years.
This is a really nice unit. It functions smoothly and changing weights/stations is pretty simple.
Now some negative feedback…
We received no fold down foot feature, just an angular plate.
The unit seems to sag in the middle—it will damage flooring. I shimmed all points to perfection and placed protective pieces underneath the touch points.
I’m 6’2” and do experience some limitations to ranges of motion, however simple placing some wooden planks at foot placement points seems a reasonable solution.
Changing from the upper to the lower—the threaded links are a bit clunky, I’ll likely replace with appropriate carabiners to add some simplicity.
The ankle attachment is adequate, but it too should have its own carabiner for simpler operation.
After only a few days, these issues are relatively minor in my opinion.
Again, a really nice unit for the price. Durability will be next in question, however at our Gen X age, I’m not expecting very many issues.

Bought this equipment, open box missing parts. Called customer service left on hold for over a hour. Then I get told the missing parts are back order. So I have to pay to return it or us it as a paper wait. First time dealing with marcy most likely the last.
Got this unit in early October 2024. During shipping the box was damaged and I had to conduct inventory to ensure nothing was missing or damaged. Everything was fine and nothing was missing. Because life is busy, it took me several hours after work to put it together. I can say this unit will fully meet my fitness needs.

This is an excellent home gym that fits perfectly in the space I had. This a very sturdy well built machine. So easy to go from one exercise to the next. Everything feels great.
Just put this together 2 days ago - pretty easy to do, despite the 85 parts and 21 steps, just takes a couple/few hours. This is one of only a few home gyms that would fit in my drop-ceiling, 6’ 7” basement. It just makes it with the 3/4” mats under it. One complaint is that the quad leg lift is too low. I’m 6’4” with long legs, so my heels hit the support bar underneath, so I can’t bring my knees to 90 degrees. I haven’t tried the hamstring lift yet. Another complaint is that when doing bench presses, my head hits the metal clip at the end of the cable that holds the ab exercise neck collar. I have to be careful not to lean my head back, because it hits me at the base of my skull. Maybe it that didn’t stick out so much, it wouldn’t be such a hazard. Foam on the bench press bar where your hands go would be nice to have too, it’s kinda painful. I’ll see what I can fashion to fit there. Overall, I’ll make it work & it’s better than paying for a gym membership.
Love this equipment. It's versatile (lots of different exercises), space friendly (I managed to find room for it in my 800 square foot condo), and pretty easy to put together. The assembly, though time-consuming, came with pretty clear instructions. I must admit I had to check out the assembly video on the Marcy website a couple of times, mainly because my eyesight is bad enough to make it difficult to see the details in a couple of the pictures in the manual.
The number of different exercises that can be done on this gym is quite large. I would have appreciated a better description in the User Manual for some of them. In fact, it would have been nice to have a more thorough listing of the various routines the gym is good for. That being said, there's a ton of information on YouTube and other sites that will give you an idea of how to use it to achieve your fitness goals. I have a book describing many exercises to attack the various muscle groups, and I found that many of them could be adapted to use this gym.
The biggest complaint I have was that the packaging was substandard. The one box it came in was literally in two pieces held together by cling wrap and a lot of tape. I was concerned that some of the various pieces (340 in total by my count) might be missing. Amazingly, it was all there. I suspect the packaging issues could have been mitigated somewhat by packing the weight stack in a separate box. Just saying.
Overall, it's an impressive piece of equipment, very sturdy, and I expect it will be a staple of my fitness routine for many years to come.
I bought this machine a couple of wees ago and just now got it assembled and did my first workout last night. So far it works great and if anything changes I will go back and re-review. FedEx butchered the big 137 lb box but everything but the weight stack cover was ok and Marcy is sending me a replacement for that. I assembled it by myself in about 3 hours .. wasn't tht difficult. I would recommend this maching to anyone that wants to have a workout station at home especially if you are limited on space. I have it set up in a 9 ft x 14 ft sunroom and have ample room all around.
Waited 2 months before rating just to make sure. First thing is, yes it did come a little bit beat up. But I believe it is a little expected when something heavy is being transported to 3-4 different locations before arriving by people overworked and underpaid.
Second thing is that Marcy customer support is the very best I have dealt with in a long time.
Third thing is that I am 6’ tall and this weight machine works great ! I do have to adjust some of the exercises and the length of the chain to get all of the exercises I want to do.
Fourth thing is if you want a great workout machine for the price you can not go wrong with a Marcy weight machine.
Fifth thing is that I don’t have to worry about dropping weights and breaking something.
Sixth and last thing is that it was easy to put together. If you take your time and pay close attention to the details and instructions. It took 2 1/2 hours (I timed it) to fully build the MWM-4965.
So what are you waiting for ? Buy a Marcy weight machine and get healthy for life !!
Went together with fewer problems than I expected. This machine is well designed, well manufactured and worth every dime. Extremely pleased.
Took a long time to put together. Had to go to hardware store to get 2 bolts the right size. Works well except leg strap Velcro is too small. My neighbor and I ( both over 65 and female). Use it 5 days a week at the least weight . But will be adding more.
This has worked well for us. It is versatile and provides many different workout options. I can see where it may be short for someone who is over 6 ft tall. Also it would be great if the seat and back were adjustable. But I like using it and it works well for a home workout machine.
Assembly went well due to the best hardware packaging I have ever seen.

Was a little time consuming to put together, but not to bad. Has for the workout. It is nice and easy to use. Like all the exercises to I can do on it.
Took about 8 hours to put together. All the parts were there and packaged well. Using for about 3 weeks now and works great and safe for a young teen to use even by himself. Great sale on Cyber Monday and free shipping sealed the deal and has a 2 year warranty. Nice to be able to call customer service and quickly a live voice was there about specifications and benefits of several models.
I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly it was shipped and delivered. It came in 3 separate boxes and was very easy to put together. I did a lot of research before deciding to buy this home gym and I am very happy with my choice.
I have only had the Marcy for a couple of weeks. When I received the 3 boxes, I found it very easy to assemble. The instructions are clear and the parts are easy to identify. Like others, it took me just over 4 hours to assemble. I am very happy that I purchased it and would recommend it to others..
